40-year-old Douglas L. Warner, with a prior first-degree robbery conviction, was charged with first-degree assault with serious injury, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm in St. Louis County. He allegedly attacked a man with separated garden shear blades, resulting in emergency surgery for the victim. Warner was found with a handmade firearm and ammunition during arrest, which he is prohibited from possessing.
