Spanish prosecutors seek a 2.5-year jail sentence for former soccer chief Luis Rubiales, who is facing trial for allegedly kissing Spain midfielder Jenni Hermoso without her consent during the Women's World Cup final in August 2019. Rubiales, who has been charged with sexual assault and coercion, is also required to pay a minimum of €50,000 ($54,000) in compensation to Hermoso. The incident occurred in front of the world's cameras, sparking outrage and leading to Rubiales' suspension by FIFA. Prosecutors requested that Rubiales face a year behind bars for the kiss and 18 months for the coercion charge.
