Brazilian footballer Dani Alves, convicted of rape, granted conditional release on €1m bail in Spain pending appeal.

Former Brazilian football star Dani Alves, convicted of rape, is granted conditional release from jail on a €1m ($1.08m) bail in Spain, pending his appeal. Alves must hand over his Brazilian and Spanish passports and cannot leave Spain. He is also restrained from approaching the victim or contacting her. The court's decision, which was not unanimous, can still be appealed.
