Transport for the North calls for Avanti's West Coast Main Line rail route contract termination due to poor service.
Transport for the North (TfN) has called for train operator Avanti to be stripped of the West Coast Main Line rail route due to "unacceptable" levels of service, with a motion passed to write to the Secretary of State for Transport and ask for Avanti West Coast to have its contract terminated at the earliest possible opportunity. The decision follows a report to the TfN board that stated a continuation of the current situation was unacceptable.
