Mississippi ex-deputy Hunter Elward sentenced to 20 years for racist torture of two Black men.

Former Mississippi sheriff's deputy, Hunter Elward, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his part in torturing two Black men last year. Elward and five other former law enforcement officers admitted to subjecting Michael Corey Jenkins and Eddie Terrell Parker to multiple acts of racist torture in January 2023. Elward admitted to shoving a gun into Jenkins' mouth and firing in a mock execution during the attack.
