The Federal Court dismissed Mohd Hatta Sanuri's attempt to reinstate his lawsuit against Malaysia's government for withdrawing a review application on the ICJ's decision on Batu Puteh.
Mohd Hatta Sanuri's attempt to reinstate his lawsuit against the Malaysian government's withdrawal of a review application on the International Court of Justice's (ICJ) decision on Batu Puteh has been dismissed by the Federal Court. The Court found that Hatta's application lacked merit and did not meet the requirements of Section 96 of the Courts of Judicature Act 1964. Hatta's lawsuit originally represented himself and over 32 million Malaysian citizens, who he claimed were affected by the withdrawal of the ICJ review by both the Prime Minister and the government without prior discussion or presentation in Parliament.
