Former Malaysian AG Tan Sri Mohamad Apandi Ali seeks leave to appeal the Court of Appeal's dismissal of his RM10m defamation lawsuit against DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang. The Federal Court sets May 14 to hear Apandi's application, filed after losing appeal in Nov 2023. Apandi wants the Federal Court to address five legal questions related to the case. The High Court dismissed Apandi's suit in May 2022, ruling Lim had justified his qualified privileges in making defamatory statements due to 1MDB scandal's criminality and impact on society.
