SBM Offshore and Technip Energies have announced a partnership agreement to create a 50/50 joint venture, EkWiL, as a floating offshore wind pure player. The new company will combine expertise, engineering, and delivery capabilities to develop and commercialize semi-submersible and tension leg platform technologies for the floating offshore wind market. EkWiL aims to enhance execution certainty and cost competitiveness for future projects.
