US VA expands IVF access for disabled veterans, including same-sex couples and those unable to produce genetic materials.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has expanded access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) for disabled veterans, allowing veterans with disabilities resulting from their military service to access IVF, regardless of their marital status or ability to produce genetic materials. The VA will also permit the use of donor eggs, sperm, and embryos for the first time. The expanded benefits will grant access to same-sex couples or those who are unmarried.
