26-year-old Niall Brooks has been jailed for 3.5 years for his role in a violent attack on a nightclub bouncer, who suffered a punctured lung and other injuries. Brooks, from Tallaght, was initially charged with assault causing harm, but later pleaded guilty to assault with intent to commit violent disorder. He was also found guilty of possessing €10,535 worth of crack cocaine.
