29-year-old Derek Paul McOwen, with a history of violent attacks and drug/alcohol abuse, is jailed for 13.5 years for two knife attacks in Belfast city centre. On July 2, 2022, he stabbed one man 15 times outside Pug Ugly's pub, then attacked another man minutes later on Amelia Street, inflicting a single chest wound. The judge deemed McOwen a 'dangerous offender' and extended his post-release licence period by 3 years.
