Limerick hurler Kyle Hayes was sentenced to fully suspended 18-month and 2-year prison terms for two counts of violent disorder in a Limerick nightclub. Hayes, a 5-time All-Ireland winner, was acquitted of assault causing harm to Cillian McCarthy. The judge suspended the sentences and ordered Hayes to pay €10,000 in compensation to McCarthy for his injuries and loss.
