Japan's Mount Fuji introduces $13 entry fee, daily cap, and off-peak hours for Yoshida Trail climbers from July 1.

Japan's Mount Fuji will introduce a $13 entry fee for climbers using its most popular route, the Yoshida Trail, from July 1. The measure is aimed at managing congestion and improving safety, especially during the peak climbing season when more than 220,000 people ascend the mountain. The daily entry to the trail will be capped at 4,000 people, and entry will be prohibited between 4 pm and 2 am.
