20-year-old Molly Gilbert was jailed for 26 weeks after kicking and damaging a police car during her arrest for theft from a Co-op store in Chelmsford, Essex. She was initially arrested on 28 February and subsequently charged with theft from a shop and criminal damage. Gilbert pleaded guilty to the offences at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court and was also ordered to pay £1,000 in compensation.
