Lifestyle diseases become leading causes of death at Eastern Regional Hospital.
Dr. Arko Akoto Ampaw, Medical Superintendent of Eastern Regional Hospital, revealed that lifestyle diseases, such as stroke, hypertension, and diabetes, are now the leading causes of death at the hospital. Previously, communicable diseases dominated mortality cases. The shift in patterns highlights the importance of public education and campaigns to raise awareness about preventive steps for these diseases.
