Oxford scientist proposes malaria eradication within a decade due to a cheap, effective vaccine.

Oxford scientist Professor Adrian Hill suggests malaria could be wiped out within a decade, due to the development of a cheap and effective vaccine. The disease, which claims over 600,000 lives annually, has stalled in recent years, but the approval of two British vaccines and continued use of mosquito nets and antimalarial drugs have brought hope for eradication within 10 years, with Professor Hill estimating it could be achieved by the mid-2030s, provided adequate funding is available.
