A 40-year-old woman was rescued from a 25-foot sinkhole, identified as an abandoned septic tank, near her mobile home in Fontana, California on February 8, 2024. She fell into the hole while walking outside her home, and rescue crews used a rope system to pull her out. The woman was awake and talking while waiting for rescue, and she was later taken to a nearby hospital. The cause of the sinkhole is still under investigation.
