A sinkhole appeared in Sandymount, Dublin, outside a newsagent's, but luckily no one was hurt. Dublin City Council cordoned off the area and patched up the hole with a temporary repair. An on-call crew completed the repair, and further inspections are scheduled for Thursday to determine the cause and arrange a permanent fix. Witnesses reported that there was no support underneath the sinkhole, which was filled with sand.
