U.S. DoE and FEMA report determines Puerto Rico can fully transition to clean energy by 2050 with solar, wind, and advanced extreme weather modeling.

A report by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Federal Emergency Management Agency has determined that fossil fuel-dependent Puerto Rico can fully transition to clean energy by 2050 with the help of increased solar and wind power, energy storage, and advanced extreme weather impact modeling. The study suggests that by 2050, Puerto Rico could achieve a 100% renewable energy grid, which would result in a more resilient and cleaner electric grid.
