Convergent Energy and Power secured a $584.5 million DOE loan to develop solar and battery storage systems in Puerto Rico, aiming to improve energy reliability and affordability while supporting clean energy goals. The project, part of the Inflation Reduction Act's Energy Infrastructure Reinvestment program, will create about 540 construction jobs and help reduce energy costs and emissions. The DOE announced $1.2 billion for five projects to aid Puerto Rico's transition to 100% renewable energy by 2050.
