After a record holiday shopping season, overall take-home grocery sales have moderated. Alcohol sales in supermarkets experienced a decline of 8.6% in January due to the popular "Dry January" movement. Grocery shoppers have been spending more on premium own-label products, which experienced an increase in sales of 10.3% in the 12-week period compared to the previous year.
