Grocery price inflation in Ireland slowed by almost 10% in the past year, reaching 2.8% in the 12 weeks to August 4, according to Kantar's latest research. Irish supermarket shoppers paid 2.8% more for 30,000 products compared to the same period in 2022. Despite the inflation, shoppers focused on value and increased spending on products on promotion. Online grocery sales were up 11.5% year-on-year, with 24.5% of all value sales going through on promotion. Tesco overtook Dunnes to hold the highest market share in the Irish market, with 23.3% market share.
