Irish grocery inflation lowest since crisis (2.6%), sales rise 4.7% in May, own-label and online sales grow.
Irish grocery inflation reaches its lowest level since the cost-of-living crisis began, now at 2.6%, down from 16% at its peak. Sales of barbecue foods and beer and wine increased in May, contributing to a 4.7% rise in grocery sales in the four weeks to mid-May. Own-label sales are performing well, with a 5.7% year-on-year increase and retailers promoting their own label ranges to attract customers. Online sales also saw an 18.6% increase year-on-year.
