12-week Irish grocery prices decrease 3.7%, Easter egg sales rise 60.4%, online sales increase 16.7%.
Irish grocery prices decreased to 3.7% for the 12 weeks to March 17, with consumers spending an additional €47.8m on groceries during the four weeks to March 17, reaching €1.1bn. Easter egg sales rose 60.4% year-on-year, with shoppers spending €24.6m. Own-label products experienced a 5.5% increase, while premium own-label ranges saw a 12.3% increase. Online grocery sales increased by 16.7%, contributing an additional €26.5m.
