Astronomers reveal formation process of primitive star clusters.

An international team of astronomers, led by researchers at Peking University, has conducted a study on the formation process of high-mass protostellar clusters. These clusters, also known as primitive star clusters, are where stars like the sun originate. The researchers used large radio telescopes from home and abroad, including the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array, to observe high-definition images of these clusters. After years of research, they found that dense cores in molecular clouds collapse and contract under gravity, eventually forming primitive stars, known as protostars.
