Glasgow City Council considers using a CPO to restore the neglected 1872 Egyptian Halls.

Glasgow City Council may use a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) to acquire and restore the Egyptian Halls, a historic 1872 building designed by Alexander "Greek" Thomson. The building has been deteriorating behind scaffolding for over a decade despite various restoration plans. The council aims to find a new owner with a viable plan to revitalize the site, which has been vacant since the 1980s. The Contracts and Property Committee will discuss the CPO next month.
