Norwich City Council considers purchasing Anglia Square shopping center site due to scrapped £300m redevelopment by Weston Homes.
Norwich City Council is considering purchasing the Anglia Square shopping center site, after £300m redevelopment plans were scrapped by developers Weston Homes due to financial issues. Council leader Mike Stonard is discussing options with the government, stating that public ownership would allow the council to choose developers and dictate future developments. The 11.4-acre site, purchased by Columbia Threadneedle in 2014 for £7.5m, is now uncertain.
