Families of apartheid victims sue South African govt., seeking justice for unsolved crimes.

Twenty-five families of apartheid-era victims are suing the South African government, including President Cyril Ramaphosa, for failing to investigate and prosecute crimes from that era. Filed in the Pretoria High Court, the lawsuit seeks R167 million in damages and demands the establishment of an independent commission to investigate political interference that led to the suppression of serious crimes. The plaintiffs, including the son of Fort Calata from the Cradock Four, argue that this inaction has denied them justice and closure.
