Planned Parenthood to close four Illinois health centers due to financial struggles in March 2025.

Planned Parenthood of Illinois plans to close four health centers in Ottawa, Decatur, Bloomington, and Englewood due to financial challenges, including rising healthcare costs and lower insurer reimbursements. The closures, set for March 2025, do not affect abortion services, which are not provided at these centers. To mitigate impact, PPIL will expand appointments at other locations and increase telehealth options. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, PPIL has seen a 47% increase in abortion care patients, with 25% coming from out of state.
