French shipping company CMA CGM has ordered methane-reducing engines from Wärtsilä for eight new LNG-powered container ships. The EnviroPac feature in the Wärtsilä 34DF engines is expected to cut methane emissions by up to 50%, while maintaining high engine performance and meeting IMO Tier 3 NOx standards. The ships, being built in China, are set to be delivered between 2026 and 2027.
