A 60-year-old woman was critically injured after being hit by a car while crossing Nimitz Highway in Honolulu.

A 60-year-old woman was critically injured after being hit by a car on Nimitz Highway in Honolulu early this morning around 4:45 a.m. She was crossing the highway in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Valkenburgh Street. The 55-year-old driver, who remained at the scene and was uninjured, is being investigated for speeding, but alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment.
