UK faces "skills chasm" with London leading and other regions trailing in educational attainment.

The Learning and Work Institute warns of a "skills chasm" in the UK, with London and the southeast attracting highly skilled workers while other regions lag far behind. By 2035, over 70% of Londoners and 65% of Scots may have degrees, compared to just 29% in Hull and East Yorkshire. The report calls for government action to boost skills and investment in jobs and infrastructure outside London to close this gap.
