Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer launches Skills England, a new body aimed at improving Britain's "fragmented and broken" skills training system. The initiative brings together central and local government, businesses, trade unions, and training providers to better understand the nation's skills gap and align training with economic needs. Skills England will work with the Migration Advisory Committee to reduce reliance on overseas workers by addressing areas where home-grown skills can be developed.
