ACWA Power and HAU Energy secure $703.6 million for Egypt's largest wind farm, aiming to cut emissions.

ACWA Power and HAU Energy have finalized financing for Egypt's largest wind farm project, the 1.1 GW Suez Wind Farm, with a $703.6 million loan from international financial institutions. Located in the Gulf of Suez and Gabal El-Zeit regions, the wind farm will feature 138 turbines and aims to reduce carbon emissions by 1.1 million tonnes annually. It supports Egypt's goal to generate 42% of electricity from renewable sources by 2040, with operations set to begin in the second quarter of 2027.
