Disabled ex-athlete Jonny Huntington is halfway to the South Pole in a solo skiing expedition.

Jonny Huntington, a 38-year-old former GB para-athlete and army officer who suffered a stroke in 2014, is halfway through a solo skiing expedition to the South Pole. He aims to become the first disabled person to complete the challenge. Huntington is covering 911km of Antarctic tundra, facing freezing temperatures and 24-hour sunlight, while dragging a 110kg sled. He skis 9 to 11 hours a day, covering 18 to 23km, and hopes to reach the South Pole by January 7.
