Study in The Lancet Psychiatry finds stimulants most effective for treating ADHD in adults.

A new study in The Lancet Psychiatry found stimulants are the most effective treatment for ADHD symptoms in adults, with both patient and doctor ratings showing they are well-tolerated. The study, involving over 14,800 participants across 113 trials, also showed atomoxetine reduced symptoms but was less well-tolerated. Non-pharmacological treatments like cognitive behavioral therapy showed mixed results. The research aims to inform future treatment guidelines for adult ADHD.
