India aims to expand 4G and 5G mobile coverage, targeting remote areas and tribal groups.

Nearly 97% of India's villages have mobile network coverage, with over 95% having 4G. The government aims to expand 4G to more remote areas, including particularly vulnerable tribal groups. As of the latest data, 1,018 mobile towers have been sanctioned to cover these areas, with plans to install over 4.6 lakh 5G towers nationwide. Despite progress, 927 villages in Karnataka still lack 4G, with the government working to address this through its 4G Saturation Project.
