Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that the Indian government aims to achieve 100% telecom connectivity coverage in all villages within the next 12 months. Special funds have been allocated by the Cabinet, and a special scheme has been launched to extend telecom networks to all villages, with around 24,000 villages still needing saturation. The new telecom Act enables setting up necessary infrastructure and utilization of mixed technologies, like V-SAT and satellite, to achieve this goal.
