Study links deep belly fat to higher Alzheimer's risk proteins up to 20 years before symptoms.

A new study links visceral fat, deep belly fat, to increased brain proteins linked with Alzheimer's disease, up to 20 years before symptoms appear. Higher levels of this fat were associated with increased amyloid proteins in the brain, affecting up to 77% of high BMI cases. Researchers suggest lifestyle changes like diet and exercise to reduce this type of fat could lower Alzheimer's risk.
