Archaeologists in Scotland begin excavations to learn more about ancient stone monuments built by early farmers.

A new archaeological project funded by the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland aims to uncover details about ancient stone monuments in Scotland, believed built by the first farmers around 6,300-5,800 years ago. Researchers will conduct small-scale excavations at sites in Argyll and Bute, Outer Hebrides, and Highlands to find materials like bones or charcoal for radiocarbon dating, helping to better understand the transition from hunter-gatherer lifestyles to farming.
