India's Supreme Court asks for proof of audio implicating Manipur's Chief Minister in violence.

The Supreme Court of India has instructed the Kuki Organisation for Human Rights Trust to provide evidence verifying the authenticity of audio recordings that allegedly implicate Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh in inciting ethnic violence. The recordings reportedly feature Singh admitting to fueling unrest and protecting looters. The court has yet to decide whether to forward the case to the Manipur High Court, as the state government questions the petition's validity.
