American historian Kathleen DuVal wins Cundill History Prize for book "Native Nations".

American historian Kathleen DuVal has received the Cundill History Prize, a $75,000 award, for her book "Native Nations: A Millennium in North America," which delves into Indigenous history and sovereignty over the past 1,000 years. DuVal is a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Finalists Gary J. Bass and Dylan C. Penningroth were awarded $10,000 each. The prize honors exceptional non-fiction works in English.
