High Falls State Park development at Genesee River waterfront, part of ROC the Riverway initiative, begins 2026-27, with $8M budget.

High Falls State Park is being developed in downtown Rochester, replacing the Genesee River waterfront. New York State has hired OLIN, a prominent landscape architecture firm, to design the park, with construction set to begin in 2026 or 2027. This project is part of the ROC the Riverway initiative aimed at revitalizing the area. An open house for public input on the design will be held on November 13. The state has allocated $8 million for the project.
