Guatemalan police raid Save the Children offices over child abuse and trafficking allegations.

Guatemalan police have raided five offices of Save the Children amid an investigation into alleged child abuse and trafficking. The organization, active in Guatemala since 1976, denies any wrongdoing and claims it has never facilitated child transfers out of the country. The investigation, led by controversial prosecutor Rafael Curruchiche, has drawn scrutiny due to his sanctions from the US and EU for undermining democracy. Save the Children is cooperating with authorities.
