Chandler woman charged with animal abuse, fraud, and theft for misrepresenting care abilities and stealing from elderly mother.

April McLaughlin, a Chandler woman and operator of the Special Needs Animal Welfare League, has been indicted on multiple fraud charges following an animal abuse investigation. Authorities allege she misrepresented her ability to care for dogs, soliciting over $47,000 under false pretenses and stealing more than $160,000 from her elderly mother. McLaughlin faces several felony charges, including theft and fraudulent schemes, after police seized numerous dogs from her home.
