51-year-old Carlton Adams of Bessemer and Adger, Alabama, was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of illegally having 78 fighting dogs and illegal possession of firearms. Agents recovered two pistols, a semi-automatic shotgun, and various supplies and tools used for dog fighting, including modified treadmills, steroids, and a homemade breeding stand. All dogs were rescued and are no longer in Adams' possession; he faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
