Sam Bhambhani, 55, from Massachusetts, and Maxim Teslenko, 35, from Moscow, have been indicted for conspiring to smuggle laser welding machines to Russia's nuclear energy sector. Operating between 2015 and 2021, they allegedly falsified export documents to conceal the equipment's destination. If convicted, they face up to 10 years in prison for smuggling and five years for conspiracy, alongside significant fines. Bhambhani has been arrested, while Teslenko remains at large.
