2015 onwards, malignant melanoma rates decline for under-50s in Sweden, while rising for over-50s.

A study from Sweden's Karolinska Institutet reveals a decline in malignant melanoma rates among individuals under 50, marking a significant trend shift since 2015. In contrast, rates continue to rise for those over 50. Contributing factors include increased sun protection awareness, reduced sunbed access, and a growing population with darker skin pigmentation. While mortality rates have also decreased for younger groups, older populations have not seen similar improvements.
