ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 mission's ILSA recorded 250+ seismic signals on the Moon, possibly from past meteorite impacts or local heat effects.

India's space agency, ISRO, has shared early findings from the Chandrayaan-3 mission's Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA), which recorded seismic activity on the Moon. The analysis indicates that this activity may stem from past meteorite impacts or local heat effects. ILSA detected over 250 signals, with around 50 unlinked to the lander or rover. Further study is required to understand these phenomena better. This marks ILSA as the first seismic instrument in the Moon's polar region.
