EET Fuels begins FEED for a 1M ton/yr CO2 capture project at Stanlow refinery, targeting 45% emissions reduction by 2030.

EET Fuels, a subsidiary of Essar Oil UK, has initiated the front-end engineering design (FEED) for its industrial carbon capture (ICC) project at the Stanlow refinery, collaborating with Toyo Engineering India. The project aims to capture 1 million tons of CO2 annually, reducing emissions by 45%, and is part of a broader goal to achieve a 95% emissions reduction by 2030. Completion is projected for 2028, with the captured CO2 to be sequestered in Liverpool Bay.
